Social Events
Coordinates social events and mixers. Activities have included the monthly Going Global networking dinner,
the annual Summer Picnic, and the annual Chinese New Year dinner.
Community Service
The committee provides a variety of volunteer opportunities and other events to help engage NAAAP members in community outreach efforts. Activities have included
group participation in Habitat for Humanity, Race for the Cure, the UNC-TV Telethon, Voter Registration Drives, and Adopt A Highway.
Fundraising
Members build and cultivate long-term relationships with current and prospective corporate sponsors. The committee seeks to develop partnerships as sources of financial support, business contacts, and career opportunities. Activities include fundraising and account management.
Committee members also manage the finances for NAAAP and assists committees with their budget planning. The committee also serves to educate members on all aspects of finances as it pertains to NAAAP and their own personal financial situations through committee activities, seminars and workshops, and fundraising opportunities.
Cultural
Help to raise cultural awareness, pride and appreciation. Education is the key here. Activities have included the Asian-American Film Festival,
Asian-American Author Booksignings, and promotion of external events such as the Exploris China on Tour exhibit.
External Affairs
Do you love getting the word out? Use your marketing skills to market NAAAP, raise its awareness within the community, and recruit new members and sponsors. Activities include outreaching and maintaining relationships with other Asian Pacific American organizations, including professional and campus groups.
Communications
This committee manages the relationships with all members of NAAAP-NC. The goals of this committee include: recruiting new members, increasing current membership benefits, and promoting diversity within the organization. The committee is also responsible for communicating pertinent information to the general membership, obtaining membership feedback on events, and handling any membership inquiries.
Newsletter
Members oversee the production and layout of the newsletter. The committee is also responsible for gathering content, editing, managing sponsorship ads, and supporting committees with information dissemination.
Professional Development
The committee coordinates networking events, seminars, educational workshops, speaking engagements, and gathers resources to help NAAAP members further their professional development.
Web
NAAAP uses technology to make its mission productive. The technology infrastructure includes this Main Website, the Back Office database
hosted by NAAAP National, the Email Listserv hosted on UNC, and the Discussion Forum on www.modelminority.com/naaap.
